Google Includes YouTube Embed in the New Messages App Update

Google described the new features for the next Messages app upgrade after rolling out multiple improvements for the app this year. According to sources, Google will be making changes to the Messages app as it adds new features and promotes the use of the RCS texting standard. Additionally, users will need RCS to enable some of these functions. Moreover, users of the Messages app will be able to reply to select individual messages when RCS is enabled, making it simpler for them to access group discussions. Additionally, Google made the Voice Message Transcription tool more accessible using machine learning. Previously, only a select group of Google's mobile devices were able to access the tool. Additionally, the company included setting reminders as a new feature to the Messages app. Using this, the app will send users a notification to serve as a reminder of a particular event they set through the app. Google will also implement the embed capability so that users don't quit the program after receiving a YouTube link. In addition, the company is present testing users' ability to speak with companies on Search and Maps within the applications. Most importantly, in a separate agreement between United and Google, users will be able to send and receive free messages while boarding or in flight via United's WiFi beginning this fall.
