Google is ready to reveal additional information about its AI research next week

According to an invitation to The Verge, Google will hold an event next week to showcase how it is "using AI to reimagine how people find, explore, and interact with information, making it more natural and intuitive than ever to find what you need." On February 8 at 8:30 a.m. ET, the 40-minute event will be streamed on YouTube. The event's timing is interesting considering that Google CEO Sundar Pichai just announced that the company is planning to let users "interact directly" with its "newest, most powerful language models as a companion to search" soon. Google, long considered the de facto method of finding information on the internet, is probably under attack from Microsoft, which is rumored to be planning to integrate ChatGPT into Bing. That will enable Bing to provide more intelligent summaries and results, something that Google has had trouble with.
