The ability to easily transfer photos and videos into your texts is an important feature of messaging apps. Google is working on this, as Google Messages is currently testing a new photo picker. This will greatly improve the user experience for those importing images.
This change was first noticed in September, but we now have a new leak of it, and it's a good one. The new photo picker will have a slightly distinct interface, according to 9To5Google.
Currently, when you tap the import media button in Google Messages, you'll see a grid of your most recent images, with the leftmost square serving as a camera viewfinder. It allows you to quickly capture a new image to send in a text.

Next to that, you'll see a slideshow of your phone's most recent photos and videos. This makes it quick and simple to locate and send an image.
The new Google Messages photo picker will introduce minor changes.
When you launch the new Google Messages photo picker, the leftmost block will still serve as the viewfinder. With the new update, however, the grid will scroll vertically rather than horizontally. In addition, the viewfinder and the grid of your most recent images will be a little smaller. This allows you to see more images on your screen at once.
Another noteworthy addition is the folders button. It will appear next to the viewfinder and allow you to explore the folders on your phone to find the photo you want.
As you scroll down, the grid will display 15 of your photos before requiring you to open the full gallery. That's fewer than the 22 photos available in the current version.
We don't know when this update will be available for the app at this time. We'll have to wait for Google to issue an update.
