Google Pixel 7 Pro disappoints in gaming test

Although the cameras on Google's newest smartphone, the Pixel 7 & Pixel 7 Pro, are really remarkable, there are certain other areas where the devices seem to fall short, most notably performance. Genshin Impact has now put the Pixel 7 Pro to the test, and the flagship only managed to give a terrible account of itself. Also read: Google Pixel Watch - All You Need To Know From Price To Features According to Golden Reviewer's testing, the Snapdragon 888 in the Pixel 7 Pro makes it poorer than the Snapdragon 870 in the Poco F3, even when compared to 2021 flagships. The Google flagship manages a frame rate of 37.2 FPS on average. Comparatively, the Redmi K50 Pro, which is powered by the Dimensity 9000, averages 52.9 FPS, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, 57.7 FPS, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which averages 58.4 FPS. 46.5 FPS for the aforementioned Poco F3. In terms of gaming performance, the Tensor G2 is without a doubt the worst-performing premium SoC of this generation.

That underwhelming performance is not more than partially offset by the Google Pixel 7 Pro's ineffective efficiency. Even now, the flagship seems to have lower efficiency ratings than its competitors. The Google Pixel 7 Pro and its Tensor G2 just, well, appear to be awful at gaming in all settings, with frame rates plummeting from 59 FPS to approximately 40 FPS just 30 seconds into the test, unlike chipsets like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 that showed abrupt decreases in performance owing to throttling. The conclusion is unambiguous: gaming is not the best use for Google's new Pixel 7 phones. least for the moment.
