Source: Mashable A recent leak by Debayan Roy on Twitter has given us a sneak peek into the upcoming Google Pixel 7a. Although not a very prolific tipster, Roy has a history of accurate smartphone information leaks, so there's reason to believe this leak might be genuine. The leaked photos showcase the expected design of the Google Pixel 7a, with a cut-out for the selfie camera at the top of the display and the Pixel camera bar at the back. Essentially, it looks like what one would expect a Google Pixel 7a to look like. In terms of specs, the Pixel 7a is rumored to have a 6.1-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2400 pixel) 90 Hz OLED screen, which is an upgrade from the Google Pixel 6a. The higher refresh rate should lead to smoother scrolling and animations. The device is expected to feature a Tensor G2 processor, just like its predecessors, with a dual-lens rear camera consisting of a 64MP+12MP sensor setup. The Google Pixel 7a is also said to include 5W wireless charging, making it the first mid-range Pixel phone to feature wireless charging. There is no news on the release date of the Pixel 7a, but last year, the Pixel 6a was launched at the Google IO 2022 developer conference. This year's Google IO conference has been scheduled for May 10, so we may see the launch of the Pixel 7a at the event. Source: Wired In recent reports, it has been suggested that both the Pixel 7 and the Pixel Watch are selling in record numbers. Though these records may not be concerning for Apple and Samsung, they do show that Google is finally gaining a foothold in the market. The Pixel hardware range is gaining momentum, and the launch of the Pixel 7a is expected to help maintain this momentum. The Pixel 7a could prove to be an important addition to the Pixel lineup, offering a good balance of performance, features, and price. However, there is also a risk that it could impact sales of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 8, both of which share the same processor as the Pixel 7a. It remains to be seen what the Pixel 7a will offer this year and how it will impact the market. The leaked photos and specs of the Google Pixel 7a have generated a lot of buzz in the tech industry. As we await its official release, it will be interesting to see how the device compares to its predecessors and how it will fare in the market.
