The Google Pixel 7 series will be unveiled on October 6th at the 'Made by Google' event. Earlier this year, Google revealed the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro at its annual I/O Developer conference and released a short video of the Pixel 7 Pro on its official YouTube page.
Google shows off the three available colors in that video: Hazel (dark green with gold metal highlights), Obsidian (black with dark silver metal), and Snow (white with silver metal). The new design is similar to that of the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, with the exception that the camera bar is mostly made of metal rather than glass, and the cameras are kept behind glass windows to highlight them.
The Pixel 7 regular does not yet have its own video, but it may appear in the coming days. That would reveal an overall design similar to the Pixel 7 Pro, albeit with one fewer camera and different metal for the camera bar and side rails. The color options will also differ slightly, with Google announcing Obsidian, Snow, and Lemongrass as the color options.
Google Pixel 7 Pricing and Release Date
Aside from this video, there has been another exciting Pixel development, and while it is not official, it may have revealed the retail release date and price of the new phone.
Daniel Lee of This is Tech Today discovered a now-deleted Amazon listing for the Pixel 7, with a price of $599 and an October 13 release date. That means the Pixels will go on sale a week after the phone's unveiling event on October 6, which is consistent with Google's usual schedule.
The Pixel 7 would cost the same as the Pixel 6 at launch, at $600, which is fantastic news. The lower price of the Pixel 6 series compared to similar phones from Samsung and Apple was one of the factors that drew buyers in. With the Galaxy S22 and iPhone 14 starting at $800, it'll be difficult to overlook the extra value the Pixel 7 offers, assuming it can compete in key performance areas like the display and cameras.
Everything about the new Pixels, including the price, will be revealed at Google's October event on October 6.
