Google rolled out its AI Features for Gmail, Docs, and more

Google has recently retaliated against Microsoft's signature moves in the field of generative AI. The tech giant announced new AI features for Google Workspace on Tuesday that compete with Microsoft's recently released AI-powered Bing and Edge chat features. Google will give you permission to use AI to generate text directly within Gmail and Google Docs, recently. Google will start with Gmail and Docs before adding Slides, Sheets, Meet, and Chat to the mix. With the help of generative AI tools, you can create drafts in Docs and Gmail based on prompts and create presentations in Slides with automatically generated images, audio, and video. Through Google Cloud, the tech giant is also bringing new generative capabilities for businesses, along with a new API for developers. Microsoft debuted its ChatGPT-powered Bing in February, and in response to ChatGPT, Google unveiled Bard, its own chatbot. Gmail-keyboard-shortcuts Without a doubt, Google is moving too quickly. The company's several new features, such as AI writing tools in Docs and Gmail—will be made accessible to a group of US-based "trusted testers" this month. The public will then be able to use these features, according to Google, though it did not say when. Google says you can go further with the AI tools. The lists are given below-
  1. Draft, respond, summarize, and prioritize your Gmail messages.
  2. Brainstorm, proofread, write, and rewrite in Docs.
  3. Use Slides to illustrate presentations with auto-generated pictures, music, and video.
  4. In Sheets, use auto-completion, formula creation, and contextual categorization to gain insights and analysis from raw data.
  5. In Meet, create different backdrops and take notes.
  6. Allow Chat workflows.
Google elaborates on these potential uses in its press release: "Workspace saves you the time and effort of writing that first version, whether you're a busy HR professional who needs to create customized job descriptions or a parent drafting the invitation for your child's pirate-themed birthday party. Simply type the subject you want to write about, and a draft will be created for you right away. You can keep modifying and editing with your Al, editing, adding more suggestions if necessary.” Gmail Similar functionality will allow users to expand or rewrite text using AI tools. To remember a work meeting, Google suggests that you make a list of some key points. Then, using Google Docs, this can be expanded into a "more polished summary," with users able to manually specify the tone (whether it should be "more whimsical" or "formal," for example). In a video demonstration, Google demonstrates how AI can be used to write customized marketing messages for customers, turn bullet points into complete emails, and summarize the contents of a lengthy email chain in Gmail. This year, the release of the new Bing caused Microsoft to famously upset Google. AI-assisted search, according to CEO Satya Nadella, is a brand-new paradigm that has the potential to dethrone Google. The two businesses appear to be in direct competition with one another in the market for productivity software, though. Microsoft has a presentation on "the future of work with AI" scheduled for later this week, on March 16. Gmail's new look has two side panels Since OpenAI released the most recent version of ChatGPT and then collaborated with Microsoft to integrate its generative AI technology into Bing and Edge, Google has found itself in the unsettling position of having to catch up. Due to ChatGPT's success, Google issued a "code red" and hurriedly unveiled Bard, its own ChatGPT-like chatbot. When Bard was then exposed for being inaccurate, stock prices fell. Google now appears unusually vulnerable because of this and internal reports from staff members that the Bard launch was "botched". Although Google's announcement serves as a reminder that it is still a major player in the AI arms race, Microsoft's new toys are currently enjoying the limelight. Google says in an announcement that there are three billion people who use Google Workspace. This indicates that Google's AI features in Gmail and Docs will soon be used by three billion people. The market belongs to Google, even though Microsoft may have been the first to introduce generative AI to a flagship product at a major tech company.
