Despite not having the most appealing name, Google Bard is powered by one of the most well-known names in technology. As a result, Bard joins industry titans like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Microsoft’s Bing Chat as a significant player in the AI market. Google is currently adding new capabilities to Bard, including the ones it previewed last week at its significant I/O conference.

What Does The New Bard Offer

First off, Bard users can now export a portion of a Bard chat to Google Docs and Gmail. This functionality can be useful if, for example, you ask Bard to create a presentation outline and you want to move it to a real Doc so that you can collaborate on it, or if you need assistance creating a crucial email. In either scenario, you can select where to export the response by clicking the share icon on the Bard response.

The announcement that Bard now supports dark mode for the first time was followed by applause from those in present at I/O. It’s also simple to access: To switch between modes, simply click the “Use dark theme” button in the bottom-left corner of the screen. Finally, rather than making Bard available to normal Google Accounts, Google is making it available to Workspace accounts. If your workspace admin refuses to utilize Bard, it might not function on your Workspace plan since workspace admins have the authority to enable Bard support.

On Monday, Google also revealed a few Bard changes. Thanks to improvements in Google’s huge language models, the AI is now better at summarizing. Bard now cites its sources, which is even better: Every time Bard cites a source in your answer, numbers will show up; click on them to view the source in its entirety. That makes it simple to verify an answer’s accuracy and make sure Bard isn’t imagining it.

How to register for Google Bard

Bard access was previously restricted to those on the waitlist, but now anybody may utilize the AI bot thanks to Google. You can test it out for yourself as long as you are at least 18 years old and have a Google Account (or a Workspace account created for Bard). To get started, visit the Google Bard website and select “Try Bard.”
