Project/task management is one of the many purposes for which spreadsheets are valuable. One of the most widely used and accessible spreadsheet applications, Google Sheets is now becoming a little more accommodating for task management needs.
Dropdown chips will now be supported in Sheets, according to a Google announcement. Dropdown chips can be added to spreadsheet cells and given multiple color designations to act as extra visual indicators and quickly convey the status of something. They resemble dropdown chips, which are frequently utilized in effective task-managing platforms like Asana and Airtable, in several ways.

These chips' creation process as well as all other data validation procedures have been modified. Now, from a sidebar view, users may review, amend, and add new rules to any rules that have been set in a specific Sheets tab. Google claims that this process is now comparable to how named ranges, protected ranges, and conditional formatting rules are established.
It's crucial to note that Sheets previously supported dropdown menu items. If anything, adding the colorful "chip" visual element and making those dropdowns easy to make seem to be expanding upon that; prior to this, they were primarily simply text items.
Within the next 15 days, everyone's Sheets should have access to this feature, which is currently rolling out.
