Less than two days remain until Google's I/O event, and as per reports, may have just given away some of the key AI-related advancements that will be unveiled there. PaLM 2, a new large language model (LLM) that Google defines as its "most recent and advanced," will be a significant component of the project, according to the reports. "I wouldn't be surprised to see Google demonstrate some of these capabilities onstage given that the LLM has reportedly conducted "a broad range of coding and math tests as well as creative writing tests and analysis," according to the reports. (The first PaLM was revealed in April 2022) This was many months prior to the current AI boom, which was sparked by programs like ChatGPT. Bard is currently only accessible in the US and the UK. According to the reports, Google will also disclose further AI capabilities aimed at the workspace, including "discussing template generation in Sheets and image generation in its Slides and Meet products." We'll have to wait and watch if the firm will expand the availability of the AI features for Gmail and Docs after they were initially deployed with "trusted testers," as they stated in March. Google didn't respond right away when asked for comment. However, it shouldn't come as a huge surprise if the business makes a big AI splash at Google I/O.
