Google stated that its more recent "multi-search" feature would now be accessible to users worldwide on mobile devices, wherever Google Lens is already available, along with other announcements focusing on artificial intelligence. The search feature, which enables simultaneous text and image searches, was first unveiled in April last year as a way to update Google search and better utilize the capabilities of smartphones. Over the next few months, a variant of this called "multi-search near me," which focuses on searches at nearby businesses will also become accessible worldwide. Multi-search, as Google previously stated, is an A.I. technology known as the Multitask Unified Model, or MUM, which can comprehend information in a variety of formats, including text, photos, and videos, and then make insights and connections between topics, concepts, and ideas. The Google Lens visual search features allow users to add text to a visual search query, so Google implemented MUM in these features. A photo of a piece of furniture, such as a dining set, could also be used to find accessories that go with it, such as a coffee table. According to Google, users in multi-search could also specify brand, color, and visual attributes to further hone their results. The U.S. was the first country to receive the feature in October. It was launched in India in December. Google claims that multi-search is accessible on mobile for everyone in the entire world in all languages and nations where Lens is available. Over the coming months, Google said, this feature will roll out to all the languages and nations where Lens is available. Support for multi-search on the web will also be added in the upcoming months, extending its reach beyond mobile devices.
