Google's revamped Family Link app may notify parents when their children finish school

In 2021, Google TV added kid-specific profiles to the platform, providing young users access to a portal that only displays material that is acceptable for their age group. Google is currently adding additional features to kids' profiles, including parent-managed watchlists, recommendations on the home screen, and supervised use of the standard YouTube app. These software features are all starting to become available to Google TV users today and will do so for the ensuing few weeks. Managed watchlists are exactly what they sound like: parents may add films and television programs to a global watchlist that will show up on the child's Google TV home screen. They will be able to move quickly between videos thanks to this. Up until this point, the home screen has only shown several kid-friendly streaming apps, but not the real recommendations that are shown on adult accounts.  Google notes it's simple to hide anything you don't want to reappear on the home screen, and that these recommendations are "based on the apps you've added and the rating settings you've chosen." Last but not least, Google is attempting to provide a natural pipeline for transferring young users from YouTube Kids to the normal YouTube app while maintaining adult supervision along the way.  Google's revamped Family Link app may notify parents when their children finish school According to a blog post published today by Google TV product manager Saleh Altayyar, "if you have older kids in your home who are ready to move on from YouTube Kids, Google TV now supports a supervised experience on YouTube, so they can start exploring more of what YouTube has to offer with their Google TV kids profile."  With this service, you can manage more controls and change your child's access to features while also blocking channels and managing content settings for pre-teens and older through the YouTube mobile app.
