The Pink Ladies are entering Rydell High on their own terms this time around. Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, a new Paramount+ series, features a return of all the iconic Grease elements. Additionally, the 1954–1955 academic year is hinted at in the promotional trailer, which features romance, drama, and, of course, music. Furthermore, viewers will get to see Marisa Davila (Jane), Cheyenne Isabel Wells (Olivia), Ari Notartomaso (Cynthia), and Tricia Fukuhara (Nancy) assume their iconic friend group roles and discover more about the Pink Ladies' beginnings. In addition, the Rydell High announcement bell is heard at the beginning of the trailer, which then begins with a musical number. And even a glimpse into the girls' "summer loving" before the fall semester begins is included. Additionally, when a scared onlooker sees Jane kissing her crush in a car, she responds, "Thank you for the best summer of my short life." What's more

Things quickly change when the ladies encounter discrimination, including sexist remarks, rumors, and behaviors from their classmates at their school. Cynthia even makes an attempt to join the T-Birds, but the male members of the group laugh at her. Hence, Jane is subsequently motivated to make a stand as a result. She explains, before organizing a group of female outcasts to form the Pink Ladies, "There are a lot of kids at Rydell who are sick of feeling like they're not welcome here." "We're gonna need some jackets," she continues. "The Pink Lady pledge is to act cool, to look cool, and to be cool. 'Til death do us part, think pink." Cynthia adds, "The world's changing, boys!" as Jane responds, "Maybe sometimes, you've gotta be bad to do good." Lastly, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies will stream on Paramount+ on Thursday, April 6.
