Harry Styles' backup dancers have come to the star's defense after receiving negative social media feedback on his performance at the Grammy Awards on Sunday. Additionally, after the performance, several of Styles' backup dancers admitted that they encountered technical issues right away, causing the show to be presented backward.
According to Brandon Mathis on his Instagram Stories, which were then reposted on a Styles fan account, "What you don't know is that the moment the curtain opened, and it was time to perform, our turntable started spinning in reverse."
He continued, "Backwards. Freaking all of us out on live television, and there was nothing we could do to stop it. In real-time, we had to troubleshoot and try to do a complete piece in reverse. Talk about professionalism."
Furthermore, the "Watermelon Sugar" vocalist was defended by choreographer Dexter Da Rocha, who claimed that the group gave it their best effort. In a since-deleted TikTok video, Dexter said, "Harry did his best to be able to walk and reverse everything while he was singing and reverse his entire duet. Unfortunately, news outlets didn't know what was happening, so they called it lethargic or boring or whatever, but it really was that we're just trying to f—ing stay standing."

Harry Styles, 29, and his dancer swayed to his popular song "As It Was" throughout the performance on the revolving platform that was shown in the single's music video.
On another note, the British singer had a fantastic night at the Grammys because he won album of the year for
Harry's House. When Trevor Noah and a group of admirers presented him with the prize, he said, "This doesn't happen to people like me very often. This is so so nice, thank you."

Moreover, Styles also took the time to say that he doesn't go into the studio wondering if he will win accolades and added that "there's no such thing as best" before handing the microphone over to the producers of his third studio album. For those unaware, Styles was nominated for six awards at the ceremony this year.
Harry's House was nominated for best pop vocal album, which he ultimately won, as well as record and song of the year, best pop solo performance, and best music video for "As It Was."
