The Roaring Twenties dream is alive and well for whoever purchases this Zimmer Golden Spirit Coupe listed on Bring A Trailer. Depending on who you ask, this 2011 Ford Mustang GT turned Zimmer Golden Spirit is either a dream come true or a nightmare come true. Mechanically, it's not bad. Under the hood is a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine with a six-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. That extra traction will come in handy around corners. The fussy little things that break the illusion of classic looks are more important to José Rodrguez Jr. of Jalopnik, who covered this story. He also believes that it's just in the nature of Zimmer and Panther's neo-classic designs, but some of it is too obvious: the mismatched wire wheels for spares; a trunk bump that doesn't house a spare tire; the simulated exhaust pipes; and the extra "t" in Gatsby. It's difficult to suspend disbelief after seeing those things, and all that can be seen is how mismatched the Zimmer looks from the A-pillar forward and the C-pillar back. It's like three cars attempting to share the same space. The door lines, or creases, terminate in a semi-rhombus at the back, disrupting the wheel arch. The wheelbase is ridiculously long. And the roofline slope appears to be off. There's a reason why the majority of Morgans are convertibles. You must align the slope lines! The roof of that (barely) 2011 Ford Mustang hidden beneath Zimmer's coachwork is too sleek for the rest of the Golden Spirit's lines. Given some of the recent BaT auctions, the current bid of $9,999 makes this Mustang GT-based Zimmer appear to be a steal.
