In today's auto world, AT is the only way ahead, but Honda is one of the very few still to roll out a manual car, the Civic Type R. But this does not hold good in the future as the company has announced that there will be no more electric vehicles with manual transmission.
Honda CEO Toshihiro Mibe and Shinji Aoyama stated at a roundtable interview on EVs with manual transmission and for that matter artificial ones, “Artificially, we can do it. Mechanically, it is not easy.”

What is artificial MT in an electric vehicle?
This technology will be similar to the one that Toyota has imbibed which has a clutch, gear shifter, and virtual gear proportion, making you feel like driving a manual transmission. However, Aoyama is not happy with this technology and states, “like an extension of active sound control.”
