Consider an aftermarket water cooling system if you're purchasing components for a gaming PC. Many possibilities are available, but how do you decide which one to pick and what considerations you should make?
To help you make a more informed decision, we'll explain in this piece what to look for in an all-in-one (closed) water-cooling solution.
Single, double, and triple radiators are the common sizes of radiators found in AIO water coolers. The first one requires a single fan, the second one requires two fans, and the third one requires three fans, as the names imply.

Additionally, you might come across them as 120mm, 240mm, and 360mm radiators. You may buy their double and triple variants as 280mm and 420mm radiators. Some of them are also significantly broader, accepting 140mm fans rather than 120mm ones. Quad radiators, which use four fans, are also available, but they are extremely uncommon and, to be honest, not many people require them.
Your setup will determine which one you'll need. But as a general rule, midrange CPUs like the AMD Ryzen 5 or the Intel Core i5 perform best with single radiators. You should get at least a double or triple radiator for more powerful chips, such as the AMD Ryzen 7/9 or the Intel Core i7/i9, as these produce a lot of heat. To be sure about your decision, you can read reviews of that water-cooling system and see if anyone is using it with your particular choice of CPU or a CPU that is close.

Go For Reputed Brands
The last but not least thing you need to check is whether the product you're buying is any good and whether the water cooling solution is actually produced by a respectable company. There are other less expensive water cooling options that can malfunction within months. The pump or radiator could malfunction.
Since they are effective at cooling and last a long time, manufacturers like
EKWB,
Corsair, and
Cooler Master are typically regarded as the gold standard of liquid coolers. But ultimately, everything will depend on how well those particular items perform.
