How to install GOG & Epic Games Store to the Steam Deck? Expand Your Gaming Library

The Steam Deck is a versatile gaming console that provides access to a vast array of games from Valve's store. However, it's possible to play games from other platforms such as GOG and Epic Games Store through an application called the Heroic Games Launcher. The process to install the launcher is relatively simple and straightforward, allowing you to play games from both platforms on your Steam Deck. Before starting, it's important to note that not all games from GOG and EGS will run on the Steam Deck through the Heroic Launcher. This is due to the performance of each game, which is handled on a per-game basis. Some games may not be optimized for the Steam Deck and may not work as well as others. However, many games that are compatible with the Heroic Launcher offer cloud-save functionality, making it possible to play them on multiple computers and the Steam Deck. It's also worth noting that at the time of writing, Fortnite is not playable on the Steam Deck. Steam-Deck2-2

The Heroic Games Launcher acts as a wrapper for both the Epic Games Store and the GOG store, allowing you to run games from both platforms on the Steam Deck. While it has its limitations, the launcher offers the same compatibility options as Steam through Proton.

HOW TO INSTALL THE HEROIC LAUNCHER?

To install the Heroic Games Launcher, you need to enter Desktop Mode on the Steam Deck by holding the power button and selecting "Switch to Desktop."
From there, you can find the Heroic Games Launcher in the Discover store and install it.
Once installed, you can add the launcher to Steam by adding a non-Steam game.
After logging in to both GOG and EGS, your game library should auto-populate. From there, you can install the games you want to play and start playing by clicking the "Play" button.
If you experience any compatibility issues, you can change the version of Proton GE or enable Esync and Fsync from the settings menu.
