How to Remove Google Search History

Google’s iPhone app now lets you delete the last 15 minutes of search history in just two taps— here’s how (Image credit- CNBC)

To remove your Google search history, you can follow these steps:
  1. Go to the Google homepage and click on the "Sign in" button in the top-right corner of the screen.
  2. Enter your email and password to sign in to your Google account.
  3. Once signed in, click on your profile picture in the top-right corner and select "Google Account" from the dropdown menu.
  4. From the Google Account page, select "Data & personalization" from the left-hand menu.
  5. Scroll down to the "Activity and timeline" section and click on "My Activity."
  6. Here you will see a list of your recent Google searches. To delete a specific search, click on the three dots next to the search and select "Delete."
  7. To delete your entire Google search history, click on the three dots in the top-right corner of the screen and select "Delete activity by" from the dropdown menu.
  8. Choose the time range for which you want to delete your search history (e.g. "Last hour," "Last day," "All time," etc.) and click on "Delete."
  9. Confirm that you want to delete your search history by clicking on "Delete" again in the pop-up window.

You can delete your search data from within Google Chrome if you primarily use an Android device.
  • Launch the Chrome online browser on your Android phone or tablet.
  • History can be accessed by tapping the three vertical dots in the upper-right area.
  • To completely erase your search information, select Clear browsing data. If you prefer, you can use the magnifying glass to search for specific items, scroll down to locate them, or simply touch the X (cross sign )to the right of each one to remove them from your history.
  • Select All time from the Time range drop-down menu if you want to clear all of the data. If you wish, uncheck the boxes next to the following things.
