How to Share Screen in FaceTime?

How to Screen Share on FaceTime On iPhone and iPad

  • Initiate a FaceTime Call: Open the FaceTime app and start a FaceTime call with the person you want to share your screen with.
  • During the Call: While you're on the call, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to reveal the Control Center (on iPhone) or swipe down from the upper-right corner (on iPad).
  • Tap Share My Screen. You will notice a three second timer on the screen, subsequently a dark window displaying your initials will pop-up on the other person’s screen. If you’ve selected an app your shared content will appear here. (The screen share action will turn off your camera if you own an iPhone and if you have an iPad the video stays on.)
  • Reveal your home screen by swiping upward.
  • Now select the content you wish to share and the person on the other side will see everything on your screen.

How to Screen Share on FaceTime on Mac

  • Start a FaceTime Call: Open the FaceTime app on your Mac and initiate a FaceTime call with the person you want to share your screen with.
  • During the Call: While on the call, click the green "Share your screen" icon in the FaceTime call window.
  • Choose What to Share: You can choose to share your entire screen or specific apps or windows. Select your preference.
  • If you selected Window, move your mouse over the window you wish to share and select it. If you select Screen, hover your mouse over the screen you wish to share (if you have two  monitors, choose the one you wish to share). All the things available to you will appear on the person at the other side of the call.

How to stop sharing your screen on Mac

  • Get back to the FaceTime window and select the Screen Share icon.
  • To stop screen sharing, click the stop icon in the menu bar at the top of your screen or return to the FaceTime call window and click the red "Stop" button.
