HP has just announced the Transcend 16, the newest Omen gaming laptop, which features an ultra-bright mini-LED display, the first for an Omen-branded laptop.

The mini-LED screen has a 16:10 aspect ratio for more screen real estate and HDR 1000 for vibrant colors. The display has a maximum brightness of 1,180 nits and a refresh rate of 240Hz. These specifications should appeal to gamers, but HP claims that the display makes this laptop equally useful for creative professionals such as video editors, graphic designers, and so on.

This is also a very portable laptop, with a sleek magnesium chassis that makes it the smallest and lightest gaming laptop in HP’s history, weighing little over four pounds and measuring less than 20mm thick.

Of course, this computer is built to handle AAA PC games, so the other specs are correspondingly robust. A 13th-generation Intel Core i9 processor, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, and a redesigned cooling system with a square vent design to increase airflow are all included. The 97Whr battery also guarantees a long run time before needing to be recharged.

Every new HP Omen laptop, including this one, now includes a dedicated gaming center that optimizes your gaming experience automatically, resulting in a 10% performance improvement while playing demanding titles like first-person shooters. It also lets you enter a low-power mode to save battery life.

The HP Omen Transcend 16 will be available this Spring, at a starting price of $1,700. In addition, HP released the Omen Victus, a lower-powered relative.
