A collaboration between IKEA, a leading home furnishing company, and Little Sun, a social enterprise, is introducing SAMMANLÄNKAD, a collection of two solar-powered LED lamps that harness energy from the sun to create light. These lamps will be launched in specific IKEA markets later this month.
The design of the SAMMANLÄNKAD LED solar-powered table lamp draws inspiration from the sun and the Earth’s movement and angle around it. The light source is shaped like a half-sphere and utilizes a mirror reflection to create a radiant sun-like effect. IKEA aims to generate interest in everyday objects powered by solar energy and increase awareness about energy and its impact on our lives.
These artistic lamp designs have the potential to stimulate discussions about renewable energy. They present renewables not only as an alternative to fossil fuels but also as a preferable option.
The SAMMANLÄNKAD lamps can be charged through various sources, including external USB-A and -C ports, making them versatile and convenient. The lamps are equipped with a carry strap, allowing users to easily charge them during expeditions by hanging them alongside their backpacks.
