Prior to the Redmi K60 series' launch in China, further information regarding the Redmi K60E has become available. According to rumors, the Redmi K60E is simply the Redmi K50S, which is a Chinese variant of the Xiaomi 12T but with an upgraded MediaTek Dimensity chipset. One of the three Redmi K60 series smartphones that Kacper Skryzpek described, together with the Redmi K60 and Redmi K60 Pro, has received some clarification from Xiaomiui. Xiaomiui claims that the Redmi K60E will act as a sort of successor to the Redmi K40S, but we had hypothesized that Redmi K60E might be shorthand for Redmi K60 Extreme. For reference, Xiaomiui asserts that it examined the MIUI codebase to discover all the information below. The Redmi K60E, according to Xiaomiui, is an upgraded version of the Redmi K50S, which was itself renamed the Xiaomi 12T. To put things in perspective, Xiaomi did not introduce the Xiaomi 12T in China; instead, it debuted in other markets last month. The smartphone's features include a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Ultra CPU, a 1220p AMOLED display, and a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 120 W fast charging, among others. The Redmi K60E will borrow components from the Redmi K50S in order to handle 120 W wired charging, but Xiaomi is rumored to have switched to the Dimensity 8200 after information about it emerged earlier this week. Xiaomi will exclusively market the Redmi K60E in China, according to Xiaomiui, probably due to the device's resemblance to the Xiaomi 12T. Nevertheless, the Redmi K60 and Redmi K60 Pro should be released internationally, albeit reportedly under the POCO F5 series.
