iPhone 15 and 15 Plus may experience a delay over upgraded 48MP camera

Image credit : 91mobiles.com With a 48MP primary sensor, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max received a significant camera boost. Earlier this year, analyst Jeff Pu predicted that this improvement will trickle down to the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. The more cheap iPhone 15 models may experience a delay due to a camera component problem, even though Apple is thought to still be planning on that upgrade. This morning, Jeff Pu, a writer for Haitong International Securities, published his May analyst newsletter, which included his most recent predictions for the iPhone 15 lineup. The revelation, which was obtained by 9to5Mac, confirms some predictions made by Pu (and others), such as the use of titanium for the 15 Pro versions, the inclusion of a periscope telephoto lens in the 15 Pro Max, the reversal of solid-state buttons, and the 48MP camera on the less expensive iPhone 15 variants.

Pu specifically states that he will "continue to monitor the risks of production [sic] schedule" with regard to the stacked CIS (CMOS Image Sensor) for the 48MP camera on the 15 and 15 Plus. But Pu continues to anticipate that the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus would debut alongside the 15 Pro and Pro Max in September this autumn unless he receives more concrete information. USB-C is also coming to the whole iPhone 15 lineup. Finally, Pu anticipates that the iPhone 15 devices' storage capacities will remain at 128, 256, and 512GB, with only the Pro versions having the highest 1TB option.
