If you rely on your Google Pixel Watch to wake you up in the morning, you might want to consider setting a backup alarm. The Pixel Watch is sounding off alarms later than programmed, in some cases up to 10 minutes after they were set. This issue is causing some people to oversleep and miss important appointments or events. The problem appears to be affecting many Pixel Watch owners, with several Reddit threads popping up in the past month to voice their concerns.

Google Pixel Watch Bug Double-Sets Alarm

People are reporting that their alarms go off between one to ten minutes after the set time. Although it is not a consistent problem across the board, it is prevalent enough to cause concern. Some users have expressed hesitancy to rely on the watch alarm and have set a backup alarm on their phone just in case. Others have missed important events, like a child's feeding time, due to the Pixel Watch's alarm delay. google-pixel-watch-charcoal-device-3qt-left Bedtime mode may be the root cause of the problem. Bedtime mode is a feature that turns off the always-on display, tap-to-wake functionality, and notifications so that the watch doesn't disturb the wearer's sleep. It is speculated that this mode is keeping the Pixel Watch in deep sleep, making it difficult for the alarm to go off on time. To test the issue, four alarms were set on a Pixel Watch in succession and each time it rang on time. When Bedtime mode was turned on, the alarm also rang on time. The issue does not seem to be affecting every Pixel Watch, and it is uncertain what is causing the problem.  Also Read: Singaporeans may now use a mobile app to check status In the meantime, it may be best to set a backup alarm on your phone or use a different alarm clock until the issue is resolved.
