Designed to withstand rigorous conditions at construction sites, military missions, or wilderness expeditions, rugged tablets are built to endure harsh treatment. Utah-based Juniper Systems asserts that their Mesa Pro stands as the first IP68 model featuring active cooling.

This resilient tablet boasts a 10-inch sunlight-readable LCD touch display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, enabling usage while wearing gloves or in wet environments. It’s enclosed by a sturdy “Juniper Rugged” frame featuring easy-grip bumpers and includes an LED-backlit keypad on one side for quick-access shortcuts.

The Mesa Pro has undergone testing according to MIL-STD-810H durability standards for shock resistance, operation across various temperatures, dustproofing, and waterproofing. In fact, its IP68 rating signifies that this Windows 11 tablet can endure submersion in water up to one meter (3 feet) deep for a maximum of 45 minutes.

Under the hood, the processing power is provided by 11th-gen Intel Core i5, i7, or Celeron options, paired with 8GB or 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage, expandable via microSD. Active cooling technology assists in preventing system overheating. The inclusion of a 43.2-Wh hot-swap battery ensures extended on-site usage.

The tablet features a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. Additionally, it can be equipped with a built-in barcode imager and decoder. Connectivity options include USB-C and USB 3.1 ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and the possibility of an RS-232 connector. Bluetooth 5.1 and 802.11ac dual-band Wi-Fi are integrated, and 4G LTE can be configured if necessary.
