When Kit Harington appeared at the “Game of Thrones” convention in Los Angeles on Sunday night, fans were eager to learn more about the Jon Snow spinoff series. And despite his best efforts to remain silent, Harington, 35, did talk about how his character Snow was left at the series’ conclusion and what might have happened to him instead of being exiled to the Wall in the North for killing Daenerys.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Harington claimed, “I think if you asked him, he would’ve felt he got off lightly. At the end of the show when we find him in that cell, he’s preparing to be beheaded and he wants to be. He’s done. The fact he goes to the Wall is the greatest gift and also the greatest curse.”
The actor went on to say, “He’s gotta go back up to the place with all this history and live out his life thinking about how he killed Dany, and live out his life thinking about Ygritte dying in his arms, and live out his life thinking about how he hung Olly, and live out his life thinking about all of this trauma, and that, that’s interesting.”
Furthermore, Kit Harington provided some information on Snow’s condition at the conclusion of “Game of Thrones,” even if he did not specifically reveal the continuation of his character’s plot. He said, “So I think where we leave him at the end of the show, there’s always this feeling of like… I think we wanted some kind of little smile that things are OK. He’s not OK.”
Additional details
The fact that HBO was creating a “Game of Thrones” spinoff based on Snow was made public earlier this year. The new project, which will “upend” the last season of the popular series, is reportedly starring Kit Harington, who was nominated for two Emmys for his performance in the series.
Moreover, later, the creator of “Game of Thrones,” George R. R. Martin, announced on his blog that the spinoff is actually taking place and teased that the show’s working title is “SNOW.” For those unaware, Jon Snow traveled North of the Wall to leave his old life behind after learning that he might be the Iron Throne’s future heir at the end of the original series.
