Startup firm Lodge Outdoor has created an innovative outdoor speaker that operates solely on solar power, making it resistant to weather and water damage. Recently launched on Kickstarter, the Lodge Solar Powered Speakers feature 180 square inches of advanced shatterproof solar panels, strategically placed on four out of the six sides of the speaker to maximize sun ray absorption even on cloudy days.
With this design, there is no need for power cords, allowing for hassle-free outdoor parties. The solar panels continuously charge throughout the day, providing a full 15 hours of battery life.
These speakers connect to music sources via Bluetooth, offering a range of up to 100 feet. Setting them up is quick and easy, taking only a few seconds. Each speaker includes a magnetic stand that can be securely positioned in various outdoor settings such as grass, dirt, or other landscaping materials.
The speaker box can be easily detached from the stand and transferred to another location in the yard, brought indoors, or taken along for portable parties. Additionally, the speaker is equipped with a USB-C port for wired charging, which can also be used to power up other USB devices.
In terms of sound quality, the Lodge Solar Powered Speakers deliver a powerful audio experience. They feature a four-inch passive subwoofer for bass, a ¾-inch tuned dome tweeter for high notes, a four-inch calibrated driver for clear and consistent audio, and a 50-Watt amplifier for volume. For an even more immersive sound, multiple speakers can be connected together.

Built to withstand harsh weather conditions, these speakers have been designed to endure everything from scorching summers in the Arizona desert to freezing winters in Vermont. They are equipped with UV-safe plastics for the housing and chip-proof industrial strength solar panels to protect against damage from water, dust, and debris. Each speaker carries a waterproof IP66 rating, ensuring durability and longevity.
