Look for This Before Paying on Google Flights

There are a lot of websites, browser extensions, and apps that say when is the best time to buy flights. However, nothing beats a money-back guarantee, which Google is providing on some flights with the relaunch of their price guarantee program. According to Thrifty Traveler, the pandemic delayed the launch of the price guarantee program in 2019. They were informed by a spokesperson for Google that they are using the program once more. As part of our larger objective to help travelers feel confident that they have booked the best price for their trip, we are testing price guarantees for a subset of users in the United States.

How does the price guarantee from Google Flights work?

Google Flights is merely a third-party service that curates ticket data to make it easier to find and purchase flights. They are neither a travel agency nor do they directly sell you the flight. You still purchase the flight from the airlines; however, if you "book on Google" (where you enter your personal and payment information without visiting the airline's website), you will see a banner with a colorful price badge. If the flight's price drops, Google will refund you the difference. Google Flights The service is essentially an extension of their price tracking feature, demonstrating their boldness and reliability. After the flight takes off, the price tracking program will refund you the difference via Google Pay if it finds a price drop. Naturally, the objective is to increase traffic as travel demand continues to rise.

How can I make use of Google Flights' price guarantee?

The price guarantee banner and logo won't appear on all flights because the program is just starting over. However, there are steps you can take to ensure that you see them when they are available. To begin, you must be signed in to Gmail, have the app downloaded, and have a Google Pay account in order to view the price guarantee. At the moment, one-way and round-trip flights are eligible. At the moment, only domestic flights are eligible for "Book on Google." To be eligible for the cash back, the price difference must be greater than $5, and the annual payment amount is limited to $500.
