According to court testimony, a British nurse accused of killing seven infants in 2015 and 2016 allegedly "told off" a coworker who dialed 911 when one of the infants' oxygen levels fell. The 32-year-old Lucy Letby is suspected of administering insulin or injecting air into the bloodstreams of five baby boys and two baby girls, killing them. She is also charged with attempting to murder 10 additional newborns at the Manchester Countess of Chester Hospital's neonatal section. However, Letby denies the allegations. Furthermore, the prosecution brought numerous of her coworkers to testify about her behavior during her trial, which started last month. Lisa Walker, a neonatal assistant nurse, was called to testify by the prosecution on Tuesday, according to the BBC. Walker testified that she called for assistance when a baby in her care suffered a precipitous loss in oxygen. She stated that Letby "told her off" after help arrived and confronted her about it. Lucy Letby According to the BBC, Walker testified, "I was shocked because you can't have enough help in that situation. [I was] quite taken aback and shocked because it's something you would not expect a nurse to say."

More on the ongoing trial of Lucy Letby

Walker was the most recent coworker to testify. In testimony last week, Letby's boss described what transpired to a preterm baby who, according to prosecutors, had air forced into his stomach through a nasogastric tube. Letby's supervisor testified that even though she was supposed to be caring for another premature infant, she mysteriously showed up multiple times in the dead baby's intensive care unit. Sadly, the baby's condition quickly deteriorated and it died. In another instance, the prosecution claims that Letby made at least three attempts to kill a preterm newborn girl before ultimately killing her. She apparently sent the girl's parents a sympathy card after that. According to the prosecutor, Letby allegedly wrote in one note: "I killed them on purpose because I'm not good enough to care for them." Likewise, she wrote in allegedly wrote in another note: "Not good enough. I will never have children or marry. I will never know what it's like to have a family." Also, she wrote in one of the notes: "I am a horrible evil person," adding, "I AM EVIL I DID THIS," in capital letters.
