Megan Thee Stallion is unquestionably a trendsetter. And this time, she's utilizing her fame to motivate people to care for their mental health. The 27-year-old rapper debuted "Bad Bitches Have Bad Days Too," a digital library of tools for mental health care, over the weekend. Links to numerous free treatment organizations, crisis hotlines, and resources exclusively for Black men and women and LGBTQIA+ people of color are available on the website. Furthermore, Megan has been extremely candid about going to counseling on her own to deal with her sadness in interviews. Megan's grandma, who had assisted in raising her, passed away shortly after Holly Thomas (who had died in 2019 from a brain tumor) did. In addition, her father died when Megan was only fifteen years old. Megan Thee Stallion   Therefore, she sought therapy to deal with the grief of her family's death, as revealed in an interview with Taraji P. Henson. "I've lost both of my parents. So now I'm like, 'Oh my gosh, who do I talk to? What do I do?" she told Henson, according to BuzzFeed. "And I just started learning that it's ok to ask for help. And it's ok to want to go get therapy," said Megan Thee Stallion.

The shooting case

After claiming that rapper Tory Lanez shot her, the Houston rapper opened up about the challenges of being in the spotlight and subject to public scorn. When asked how the public reacted to her speaking out about the alleged shooting, Megan told Rolling Stone Magazine, "I became the villain."  Megan Thee Stallion   Lanez denied having shot Megan Thee Stallion and implied she was lying. Therefore, many people online went along with it and labeled Megan "a liar and a snitch." The case is still ongoing.

What's More

Megan also stated in her interview with Henson that it was crucial to treat her mental health properly at such times (referring to the shooting case). She said to Henson, "I feel like mental health is more important to me now than ever. I have more pressure on me than I feel I used to have when I was Megan, and I wasn't as criticized and under such a magnifying glass as I am now."  Besides, it can be challenging to advocate for mental health care as a Black woman, especially if you're in the public glare. So, Megan Thee Stallion not only speaking out about mental health but also empowering others with the knowledge and skills necessary to prioritize it more in their own life is truly inspiring.
