Image credit : BGR The Mortal Kombat 1 game has finally been announced after weeks of official teases and unauthorized rumors, and a brand-new video illuminates its relaunched world. This upcoming installment of the Mortal Kombat series, which will feature well-known characters in a world created by the ascending Fire God Liu Kang, will be a full reworking of the venerable genre, as implied by Mortal Kombat 11's narrative climax. As stated by NetherRealm Studios, this is a new Mortal Kombat chapter with new backstories, motivations, designs, and powers for characters including Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage, and more. The franchise's dedication to bloody, gory battles and grisly deaths won't change, as the game's cinematic trailer makes very obvious. Favorite fighters will still be able to smoosh villains' heads, slit their throats, and knife-punch through meat and tissue, despite the tiny change in appearance. What more could you possibly ask for in a Mortal Kombat game? More 'Story Mode' content will be included in Mortal Kombat 1's regular gameplay, including 'an immersive cinematic storyline containing unexpected twists on traditional rivalries and creative backstories for a wide-ranging cast of renowned fighters.' Some have hypothesized that this is how guest characters would appear in the game, including the rumored combatants Homelander (The Boys), Peacemaker (The Suicide Squad), and Conan the Barbarian. However, these fighters have not yet been unveiled.
