Fitbit's Irregular Heart Rhythm Notifications, a feature that alerts users to potential atrial fibrillation, has appeared on some Pixel Watch devices despite the device not officially supporting the feature. The Pixel Watch comes with an ECG app that can record electrical signals for 30 seconds and look for signs of AFib on-demand, but it does not offer the same round-the-clock monitoring as other Fitbit devices.
Atrial fibrillation, also known as AFib, is a type of irregular heartbeat that can increase the risk of stroke, heart failure, and other complications. Irregular Heart Rhythm Notifications are designed to detect signs of AFib and alert users so they can seek medical attention. This feature is considered to be a valuable tool for people at risk of AFib, as it allows them to take proactive measures to manage their heart health.
The feature, which is available on devices such as the Sense 2, Sense, Versa 4, Versa 3, Versa 2, Versa Lite, Charge 5, Charge 4, Charge 3, Luxe, Inspire 3, and Inspire 2, is not listed on support documents, product pages, or specifications for the Pixel Watch. However, some Pixel Watch owners have reported seeing an Irregular Rhythm Notifications page in the Discover tab of the Fitbit app, which allows them to view notifications and see when data was last analyzed.

It is unclear whether this feature was intentionally enabled by Fitbit or if it is a bug. The company has not yet commented on the situation. Some speculate that this could be a software update that enabled the feature, while others believe it could be a glitch that occurred during the pairing process.
The Pixel Watch also lacks other health features found on other Fitbit devices, such as SpO2 tracking, high and low heart rate notifications, and skin temperature variation. This lack of features may be a drawback for some users who are looking for a comprehensive health monitoring device.
