The internal SSDs that Samsung sells are among the best on the market, and the company's drives work well in a variety of applications, from a new gaming PC to an improved laptop that is several years old. A brand-new, blazing-fast SSD, the PM9C1a, has just been made public by the business. Since Samsung's PM drive series is targeted at business clients rather than consumers, the PM9C1a may not have the most distinctive product name available. With "the company's seventh generation V-NAND technology" employing PCIe 4.0, the drive employs a new controller built on a 5 nm process. That comes close to the Samsung 990 Pro's read and write rates of 7,450 MB/s and 6,900 MB/s, but it is not quite as fast. The PM9C1a's read and write speeds are both 1.6 times quicker than those of the PM9B1 drive it is replacing. Additionally, while a laptop is in standby (sleep) mode, the new model consumes 10% less power. Samsung does, however, mention that the drive will offer "elevated computing and gaming performance in PCs and laptops." Despite the fact that you most likely won't be able to purchase the PM9C1a drive for your own PC, it might appear in some gaming laptops and pre-built gaming PCs.
