The Mate X3 and the Galaxy Z Fold4, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold5 from this year, will be competitors of the Vivo X Fold2. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and a hinge that closes with no visible gap are just two examples of the high-end hardware that the Vivo X Fold2 is equipped with. In place of the X Fold, which made its debut alongside the X Flip and the Pad 2, Vivo has introduced the X Fold2. The X Fold2 is a flagship competitor for devices like the Galaxy Z Fold4 and the Mate X3 that Huawei unveiled earlier this year, as was to be expected. Vivo's choice to give the X Fold2 a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset implies that when it launches this summer, its newest foldable will compete with the Galaxy Z Fold5. In other words, the X Fold2 has an opening thickness of 5.95 mm. The Galaxy Z Fold4 is roughly 15.8 mm thick, whereas its hinge mechanism enables it to collapse without a gap, resulting in a 12.9 mm thickness. However, Vivo's foldables continue to weigh a lot more than Samsung's. Even if the X Fold2 weighs 33 g less than its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold4 is still 15 g lighter. The X Fold2 also includes a 4,800 mAh battery that enables 50 W wireless charging and 120 W wired charging. Vivo has also added a 6.53-inch cover display with 1080p resolution and an 8.03-inch interior display with 2,160 x 1,916 resolution. For comparison, both display devices are 120 Hz AMOLED displays. Additionally, Vivo still has two ultrasonic fingerprint sensors, one for each display. Unfortunately, Vivo has not said whether it plans to make the X Fold2 available everywhere. Only the Chinese pricing, which starts at CNY 8,999 ($1,309) with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, has been officially verified by the company so far. For CNY 9,999 (about $1,455), the device is also offered with the same RAM capacity but 512 GB of storage.
