Only a few months after introduction, Tesla recalls its electric semi truck

The voluntary recall includes an "electronic parking brake valve module [that] may fail to shift into the park position when the parking brake is triggered," according to a warning posted online by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The vehicle may move accidentally, increasing the risk of a collision, if the parking brakes are not engaged when the driver expects them to be and the service brakes are released. Luckily, the problem has not yet been linked to any collisions, injuries, or fatalities. Although the NHTSA claims that just 35 Semi trucks are impacted, it's unclear how many of the vehicles that are already on the road are affected because Tesla hasn't disclosed any information about Semi production. Although it hasn't been proven, given that the vehicle was only recently introduced, it's probable that the flaw impacts the majority or all of the Semi trucks produced thus far. The Semi has a modern appearance and, when loaded to its 80,000-pound maximum gross vehicle weight, can reach 60 mph in 20 seconds. According to reports, the base price for the 500-mile variant starts at $180,000, while the price for the 300-mile model is said to be $150,000.
