Reports have emerged that Outlook users are being inundated with spam emails due to a breakdown in the email spam filters. According to social media platforms and the Microsoft Community website, countless Outlook users are claiming that all messages, including those that should have been sent to the junk folder, are landing in their inboxes. This ongoing issue has been occurring for several months, with customers experiencing numerous spam emails in their inboxes since at least November 2021. Some users have tried to fix the issue by checking the "Only trust email from addresses in my Safe Senders and domains list and Safe mailing lists" in Junk Mail > Filters, but this has not resolved the problem. The filtering system appears to be completely broken, and despite the stream of customer complaints, the Office service status page displays that "everything is up and running." It's been happening for way too long, and it just continues to get worse on an hourly basis," one frustrated user said. "Seems to have begun happening between 10 pm and midnight Eastern time (I have a successful junk mail at 10:04 pm, and the first inbox junk mail at 12:17 am)," another added. Outlook Although Microsoft is yet to issue a statement confirming the spam filtering issue, the company has been aware of the problem for months. The consequences of this spam email inundation can be costly for businesses and individuals alike. Spam emails can carry viruses, ransomware, and other malicious software that can be harmful to your devices and your sensitive data. Moreover, with such a high volume of spam emails clogging up their inboxes, Outlook users may miss important messages from their clients, colleagues, or even friends and family members. In conclusion, the ongoing breakdown of Outlook's email spam filters is causing significant inconvenience to users. This issue has been happening for months, with many users experiencing a deluge of spam emails in their inboxes. Microsoft has yet to issue a statement confirming the issue, and despite customer complaints, the Office service status page displays that "everything is up and running." Until this issue is resolved, users should remain vigilant and take extra precautions to avoid falling victim to spam emails.
