Police could only use the word "tragedy" to describe the deaths of three family members who engaged in a murder-suicide-pact. Additionally, Det. Timothy Fink of the West Manchester Township Police Department said, "The only word that keeps coming to my mind is tragedy."
Details about the tragic incident
According to a police statement, on January 25, officers were called to the residence of James Daub, age 62, his wife Deborah, age 59, and their daughter Morgan, age 26. Upon arrival, they found their bodies lying on the ground in their backyard.
Furthermore, James and Deborah both died as a result of head injuries sustained from gunshots. According to the York County Coroner's Office, they both died just before Morgan committed suicide. Therefore, Morgan's death was recorded as a suicide, whereas James and Deborah's deaths were deemed to be homicides.

According to Fink, detectives discovered suicide notes inside the house, as reported by TV station FOX43. He told the channel that Morgan's mother made the decision to take her own life and persuaded her husband to follow suit. Hence, the three family members likely engaged in a murder-suicide pact.

People who knew the family described them as friendly and religious. According to reports, Morgan was a competitive bowler as a child and even won scholarship money for college, which she never attended.
Paula Wolfe, a youth coordinator at Suburban Bowlerama, stated, "She really seemed to enjoy bowling. And she was smart. Kind of a quiet girl. Her mother was very friendly. Dad was friendly."
Moreover, reports revealed that Morgan had set up a YouTube channel where she quoted from the Bible and referred to herself as "a prophet of the most high God."

According to Wolfe, "Everybody's just really sad about it, and just doesn't know what to make of it. I don't know that you could ever imagine this."
Lastly, police said in a statement, "At this stage of the investigation, we do not believe that there is any danger to the public and the surrounding community."
