This technology is now accessible for US-based Taycans. This map feature would assist users in organizing their upcoming journey or locating the ideal rest and refueling stops that they would need to make. Users of the Maps feature would receive automatic navigation that accounts for these charging stations, as well as suggestions for EV charging, which stops right away.

Porsche is the second company to adopt technology for Apple Maps' EV routing

By incorporating Apple Maps EV routing into its vehicles, Porsche has made a substantial contribution to improving the driving experience for electric vehicle (EV) users. Owners of the Porsche Taycan can now take advantage of Apple's EV navigation tool in the US, which offers helpful information about charging stations along the intended trip. Since its debut, the function has gained popularity and been embraced by a number of automakers; BMW was one of the first to use it in their EV cars. Ford was the first company to formally declare its support for Cupertino's technology, albeit it was the second company to utilize Apple Maps EV routing. Using Apple CarPlay, you may route your Taycan for EV charging. Through Apple CarPlay's link to Porsche's infotainment system, this seamless integration is made possible, improving navigation when utilizing Apple Maps as the route planner. Taycan's infotainment system and Apple CarPlay are smoothly integrated, enabling users to use Apple Maps to route their trips using EV-specific routing. This feature provides precise guidance to enhance the driving and charging experiences by taking into consideration the current battery charge level, the distance to be traveled, and the availability of charging stations.

Routing on Apple Maps EV and its Support

Prior to Porsche, Ford was the first firm to implement Apple Maps' EV routing integration, which helps EV owners learn about the routes they take and ensures they reach their destination. The Mustang Mach-E, one of the current manufacturers currently using Apple CarPlay, received this function in 2022. For EV drivers, having access to information on charging stations along the intended route is a big benefit because it takes the worry and uncertainty out of trying to discover adequate charging choices for longer trips. Porsche's inclusion of Apple Maps EV routing confirms the feature's position as a useful resource for owners of electric vehicles. Porsche is the most recent automaker to do so.
