Radar Warfare Systems in Russia Prevent a Direct Drone Attack on the Kremlin

Two drones were used in the attack, which was directed at the Kremlin in the early hours of May 3, according to a Kremlin statement that was widely reported in the media. Additionally, Russia claims that the drones were destroyed by its radar warfare systems. Moscow has described the incident as a terrorist act and an attempted assassination. According to the reports, although wreckage from the drones fell onto Kremlin grounds, nobody was hurt. Hardliners want to punish Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy right away, while the administration has charged Ukraine with planning a terrorist strike. The allegations were denied by a top Ukrainian presidential official, who described them as the most severe ones Moscow had made against Kyiv throughout the 14-month battle. Putin uses Victory Day, a significant national festival commemorating the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II, to rally the Russian people behind his "special military operation" in Ukraine.
