I've reviewed a lot of webcams, so it's unusual for one to make a strong first impression on me. But the moment I sat in front of the Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra at CES 2023, I could have easily been duped into thinking I was being recorded by a high-end DSLR camera.
The Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra, which is now available for $300, expands on our current high-end webcam pick with a larger sensor that promises to be the largest ever in a webcam. That means more detail and better color. Here's why it could be the new webcam to conquer serious content creators and broadcasters.
Things to remind
- Price: $300
- Product: Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra
- Pros: The Kiyo Pro Ultra improves on one of our top webcam picks by adding a better sensor that brings it closer to the quality of a truly dedicated camera. While $300 for a webcam isn't cheap, it's much less expensive — and much easier to set up — than purchasing a fancy DSLR and the equipment to connect it to your computer.

The Kiyo Pro Ultra from Razer is a powerful new webcam capable of shooting 4K video at 30 frames per second (30 fps) or 1080p video at 60 fps. It has the largest Sony Starvis 2 sensor in a webcam, according to Razer. The camera produces a stunning cinematic bokeh effect, giving the impression that you're seated in front of a professional-level camera.

The Kiyo Pro Ultra webcam is bigger, faster, and more powerful than its predecessor. For extra-vivid images, Razer's Synapse app allows you to change settings like ISO, frame rate, and color. The webcam also has a physical shutter that, with a quick twist of the lens, allows you to completely block out the camera.
If you want to improve the picture quality of your YouTube videos or Twitch streams without paying DSLR prices, the Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra should be on your radar. A $300 webcam is an investment, but it's also much less expensive and easier than seeking to get a professional camera to work on your PC — and your viewers may not notice the difference. The Pro Ultra is now available, and we'll put it through its paces as soon as we can for a full review.
