Redesigned Tesla Model 3 Will Reduce Its Price, Good Time to Wait for Potential Buyers

Elon Musk's Model 3 manufacturing simplification initiative, code-named Project Highland, would eliminate numerous extraneous components and features while also introducing a fresh exterior and interior. Tesla might take inspiration from its redesign of the Model S for its best-selling car in 2024, but preferably without the yoke steering. The outside of Tesla's best-selling Model 3 sedan, which has been in production for five years, is apparently in need of an interior and aesthetics update. The updated Tesla Model 3 should start manufacturing in the early fall of next year, making it possible to market it as a completely redesigned 2024 model. Similar changes were made to the Model S's outside appearance and interior yoke steering by Tesla, but this time around, the changes to the Model 3 might be less drastic. [caption id="attachment_67257" align="aligncenter" width="1200"]Tesla Model 3 Image credit: Tesla[/caption] This is due to the fact that the so-called Project Highland is purportedly intended to drastically cut production costs as Tesla deals with an increasing number of Model 3 competitors from both BYD, its biggest worldwide challenger, and established automakers like Toyota. In order to maintain the Model 3's profit margins, it appears that Elon Musk is pushing for Project Highland to concentrate on increasing redundancies in the engineering or design of the product and streamlining production. The Model 3 might also switch to CATL's less expensive yet more powerful M3P phosphate batteries, and the first of those cars is anticipated to roll off the assembly lines early next year. Thus, the brand-new Model 3 from 2023 might serve as a test run for the transition to a Model 2 for the mass market that is inexpensive, possibly the most crucial Tesla vehicle to get right in the near future. Elon Musk said last month that a smaller, less expensive Model 2 will slash production costs in half compared to the Model 3. The speculated redesign of the more expensive sister may be utilized as a testbed for what can be cut in order to achieve a Model 2 pricing below US$30,000. They were either accidentally added or there just in case. We removed so many ineffective components from the car, "Elon Musk gave a tip, indicating his intended strategy for producing the next Model 3. When it comes to the interior, Tesla will eventually aim for a more simplistic appearance that will highlight the elements that users actually utilize. The large center display console will be the most prominent of those. Buttons and air vents that Tesla reportedly now finds unsightly were removed from the interior of the Model S last year, so the forthcoming Model 3 might also go through a similar interior makeover. According to industry experts queried on the subject, production of the less expensive Model 3 will begin in the July quarter of 2019 and Tesla will split its manufacture between the Fremont and Shanghai Gigafactories. However, because the Fremont facility is one of Tesla's oldest and least productive, the newly upgraded Giga Shanghai plant will be first in line to assemble the updated Model 3.
