Niantic nerfed remote raids on April 6 by raising their cost and limiting the total amount of Remote Raid Passes a player can use each day. The town erupted in an outcry never before seen as a result.
Players started to experience the impacts quickly after the Nerf. In-person raids, according to their argument, were beginning to become impractical without greater accessibility to Remote Raids. Raids involving Mega Evolved or Legendary Pokemon are very common.
Even players who had no intention of joining the boycott have shied away from trying high-level raids because of the increase in difficulty. And for one couple, this might mean that their days of Pokemon Go raiding are over.

On the Pokemon Go subreddit, the post was made by user
chop655. The message stated, "As a rural husband and wife team, I think 4/5 raids are a thing of the past for us. It included a screenshot of Mega Blastoise with two seconds left and 1/8 of its health remaining. I appreciate Niantic putting an end to remote play.

The pair is just the most recent in a long line of players that are fed up with how Pokemon Go raiding is currently going. In the past, Niantic has stated that higher-level raids will require ten or more players to complete, and Remote Raiding (before the nerf) made it much simpler to assemble teams.
Comments poured in as several users joined the trend. One user wrote, “If it makes you feel better, I live in the middle of Los Angeles, but not a part like downtown, and I also can no longer raid unless I make it somewhere like Santa Monica or Disneyland.”

Others suggested ways Niantic could increase raid accessibility while keeping the Remote Raid nerf in place. Because it can be challenging to gather enough people for a raid in time, one user suggested doing away with the Timer for in-person raids.
Pokemon Go gamers will have to keep battling through in-person raids in the hopes of accomplishing the unattainable until any adjustments are made.
