Ice Universe has recently disclosed exclusive details about the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra, building upon earlier leaks regarding Samsung’s forthcoming flagship smartphone. According to reports, Samsung is planning to make a significant change by adopting a titanium alloy mid-frame for the Ultra version in the next year.

This marks a departure from the current Armor Aluminum solution employed in the Galaxy S23 Ultra. It’s interesting to note that Apple is also anticipated to introduce titanium frames for its iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, along with other improvements compared to the present iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Surprisingly, despite the fact that titanium is generally heavier than aluminum, this transition from aluminum to titanium is projected to not increase the weight of the Galaxy S24 Ultra compared to its predecessor.

In fact, Ice Universe claims that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will weigh 1 gram less than the Galaxy S23 Ultra, coming in at 233 grams. This suggests that the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s frame should offer greater resistance to scratches compared to the current-generation Ultra.

Additionally, the same source reports that Samsung will introduce a novel zoom button within its default camera app coinciding with the launch of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The rumor indicates that Samsung will include a 5x zoom option, alongside the existing 2x, 3x, and 10x options available for the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

However, it’s important to note that the Galaxy S24 Ultra is not expected to feature a corresponding 5x telephoto lens. Instead, the device will leverage in-sensor zoom, which is likely to revolve around the rumored 50 MP camera and the 3x telephoto camera.
