Shania Twain reflects on stepfather's sexual abuse: I used to flatten my breasts

Shania Twain, a Canadian singer best known for the singles Any Man of Mine, Man! and I Feel Like a Woman!, recently spoke out about the precautions she had to take to protect herself from her stepfather Jerry Twain's sexual abuse. The five-time Grammy Award winner said she found it difficult to embrace her femininity because of the incidents, and she frequently had to flatten her breasts to prevent being attacked.Shania Twain "I hid myself and I would flatten my boobs," Twain said to The Times. "I would wear bras that were too small for me, and I'd wear two, play it down until there was nothing girl about me. Make it easier to go unnoticed. "It took a long time to manage that anger," she added. "You don't want to be somebody that attacks me on the street. Because I will f***ing rip your head off if I get the chance." "I was never an exhibitionist for the sake of, like, saying, you know, 'Look at my tits.' It was really me coming into myself. It was a metamorphosis of sorts."
