Solution to gaming performance problems in Windows11 is here by Microsoft

Microsoft is providing a preview of an update that addresses some performance issues with gaming to users of Windows 11.  The software developer first issued a warning about some games performing worse than planned earlier this month after some Windows 11 users who had upgraded to the most recent 2022 Update (22H2) reported concerns. Microsoft warned at the time that "certain games and apps might exhibit lower than expected performance or stuttering on Windows 11, version 22H2." Games and apps that are impacted unintentionally enable GPU performance debugging tools that are not intended for consumer use. Microsoft blocked the Windows 11 2022 Update for PCs with the problematic games and advised consumers not to upgrade, despite failing to specify which specific apps and games were having issues. Since that protection was disabled about a week ago, Microsoft has released a complete fix. You can search Windows Update for a KB5020044 update preview that you can install if you're using the Windows 11 2022 Update. Separately, the most recent Windows 11 2022 Update also experienced stuttering and frame rate dips due to initial driver difficulties with Nvidia. Problems were fixed by Nvidia in September. The most recent version of Windows 11 from Microsoft also contains updates for Windows Spotlight, new storage alerts for OneDrive, and the usual bug patches that the company often pushes out in cumulative monthly releases. The complete release notes are available here. Microsoft also disclosed last month that several virtualization elements in Windows 11 can affect how well games run. Microsoft gave gamers instructions on how to turn them off, but it's crucial to switch them back on if you do so in order to prioritize performance.
