Streamforged Is Creating Board Game Version Of Elden Ring

Steamforged Games, a frequent Bandai Namco board game adaptation partner who previously worked on the board games for Dark Souls and Monster Hunter: World, is creating an adaptation for Elden Ring. Steamforged announced the Elden Ring board game will be sold through a Kickstarter campaign in a news release on their website. A render for a miniature of iconic early-game boss Margit, the Fell Omen, was included with the announcement. The game would feature dice-free boss and minor enemy fighting and let one to four players "embark on a big and varied adventure, visiting iconic places and crossing paths with recognisable opponents and characters." “Our mission is always to deliver authentic tabletop adaptations that capture the essence of what fans know and love about the IP.  Prepare to lose hours to this game, and to be glad about it,” said Mat Hart, the co-founder and chief creative officer at Steamforged. Fans may anticipate "a dark, beautifully realised tabletop world of intrigue and peril, with intense combat and gratifying exploration," according to Mat Hart. More information on the game will be made available, according to Steamforged, as launch day approaches. However, none of that really explains how the game will be. It is more likely that diceless fighting will lead to more practical, balanced, and deterministic battles like those in Gloomhaven or even Into the Breach. If you're interested, you can subscribe to notifications on its Kickstarter website and follow the project. Over 8,700 people were following the campaign at the time this was written.
