SwitchBot has come out with the Curtain 3, a smart curtain controller that has more features than its original, the Curtain 2. The company says that Curtain 3 is twice as strong and twice as quiet as Curtain 2. SwitchBot also says that its new solar panel, which can be bought separately, will give “true unlimited battery power,” which the old panel couldn’t do.
On August 25, you will be able to buy the Curtain 3 and the SwitchBot Solar Panel 3 for $89.99 (£89.99/€89.99) and $25.99 (£25.99/€25.99), respectively.

Features Of SwitchBot Curtain 3
Weight
Curtain 3 can hold up to 36 pounds (16 kg) of weight, which is more than twice as much as Curtain 2. It connects with Bluetooth Low Energy and has a range of up to 80m (262ft) if there is a clear line of sight. The remote works with different kinds of curtain rods, giving users more options.
Noise Level
From 1m away, Curtain 3 makes about 45dB of noise, which is about the same as the noise level in a suburban neighborhood at night. It also has a QuietDrift Mode that lowers the noise to 25 dB, which is about the same as a human whisper.
Design
Curtain 3 is slimmer than Curtain 2, and its length is 30mm longer. SwitchBot says that it works with 98% of curtain tracks around the world and can be bought in rod rail, U rail, and I rail styles.
Battery
SwitchBot has also come out with the $25.99 SwitchBot Solar Panel 3. The new solar screen charges twice as fast as its predecessor and only needs three hours of direct sunlight to make it, so you don’t have to charge the Curtain 3 by hand. But the Curtain 3 still has the same battery life, which is supposed to last up to 8 months on a full charge.
Bluetooth Devices
SwitchBot came out with the SwitchBot Hub 2 earlier this year to make it more compatible. The hub acts as a Matter bridge, letting the Curtain 3 and other Bluetooth devices work with Apple Home. Users can still connect the Curtain 3 to Samsung SmartThings, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Apple Shortcuts even if they don’t have the hub.
SwitchBot is known for making smart home retrofits that are easy to use. It sells a smart lock upgrade and a button-pressing robot, which can be used to automate different things in the home.
