Sylvester Stallone revealed he committed a "tragic mistake" that almost led to the dissolution of his 25-year marriage. In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter released on Monday, the "Rocky" star said, "Sometimes I put the work ahead of [my family], and that is a tragic mistake which won’t happen again." For those unaware, after more than twenty years of marriage, Stallone's wife, Jennifer Flavin, filed for divorce from the actor in August. The breakup initially appeared contentious as Stallone, 76, covered his tattoos honoring the former model. Interestingly, the divorce was initially attributed to a heated disagreement over a dog. But Stallone insisted that the dissolution was not the result of a "trivial argument." I will always love her," he declared at the time. “She’s an amazing woman. She’s the nicest human being I’ve ever met.”

The twist

Soon after Flavin, 54, decided she wanted a divorce, she and Stallone got back together and the Florida lawsuit was formally dropped. The actor told THR, "Hopefully you’re involved with people who understand the foibles of life and the fragility of it and how rare a real good relationship is."

More details

The on-again couple has been sighted together or with their three daughters, Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet, at a number of events since their reconciliation. On another note, Sylvester Stallone and his first wife Sasha Czack, to whom he was married from 1974 to 1985, also have two boys together, Sage and Seargeoh. He remarked, "There was a reawakening of what was more valuable than anything, which is my love for my family. It takes precedence over my work, and that was a hard lesson to learn.”
