Voice-to-text transcription for videos, the ability to have different subjects in large group chats, and the introduction of "Collectible Usernames" are just a few of the new features and aesthetic improvements added to the Telegram app.
Similar to Telegram's current voice message transcription service, video messaging transcription is only available to Telegram Premium members and may be accessed by hitting the "A" button on the bottom-right of a video.
A monthly subscription to Telegram Premium costs $4.99 and offers extra perks like faster downloads, no advertisements, and a bigger file upload limit of 4GB. The first of these new capabilities for free users of Telegram is Topics in Groups.
Using this feature, groups with more than 200 members can establish distinct areas that act as standalone chatrooms and receive their own notifications apart from the broader Group.
The configuration is comparable to Discord servers, which have a single central focus and secondary channels for more focused conversations. The feature is available for testing in Telegram's own public group.
Collectible Usernames, an NFT-like asset safeguarded by the TON blockchain network and exchangeable via Fragment, are the next in line.
According to Telegram, these nicknames can be no more than five characters long and perform the same functions as ordinary usernames, including displaying in Global Search results and creating URLs like "username.t.me" and "t.me/username" that can be used outside of Telegram.
